False Spring, Real Struggle-True March Madness!

March weather really plays with our minds!  Are you starting to feel the itch to get out in your yard? While it is still too early to go all in, you can start some seeds indoors, plan out your veggies for the summer, or throw some poppy or bachelor button seeds onto the ground in a spot that gets sun. Weed early & often. If you’re pruning shrubs, don’t cut your spring bloomers! They’ve already set their buds and are getting ready to dazzle you with their floral show soon.

🌺 Garden Tip of the Month 🌺

Let Them Sleep

You might be excited to get out in your garden the moment the snow melts, but beneficial insects and pollinators are still hibernating under your leaves, in your stems, in the brush and even in small tunnels just under the ground’s surface. It’s best to postpone your cleanup until we’ve had 5 days in a row over 50F degrees, or until you see dandelions flower. Have some fun by adding a sign with pictures of bees and caterpillars that says "excuse the mess, my garden helpers are still at rest."  We have a printable option for you here
